Estimation of the Latent Heat Flux over Irrigated Short Fescue Grass for Different Fetches

چکیده
Often in agrometeorology the instrumentation required to estimate turbulent surface fluxes must be installed at sites where fetch is not sufficient for a sector of wind directions. For different integrated flux-footprints (IFFP) thresholds and taking as reference half-hourly latent heat (LE) measured with large weighing lysimeter (LELys), eddy covariance (EC) method two methods based on renewal (SR) analysis LE were tested over short fescue grass. One combined SR flux-gradient (profile) relationship, SR-P method, other dissipation SR-D method. When was estimated using traces air moisture, good performances obtained EC samples IFFP higher than 85%. However, closest estimates residual 50%, sensible flux determined performed close LELys accumulated LELys. To flux, can recommended day-to-day use by farmers because it friendly affordable.

MODIS-Based Estimation of Terrestrial Latent Heat Flux over North America Using Three Machine Learning Algorithms
Terrestrial latent heat flux (LE) is a key component of the global terrestrial water, energy, and carbon exchanges. Accurate estimation of LE from moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) data remains a major challenge. In this study, we estimated the daily LE for different plant functional types (PFTs) across North America using three machine learning algorithms: artificial neural...
متن کاملInverse Estimation of Boundary Heat Flux for Heat Conduction Model
Mathematical model of direct and inverse problems is developed for the flat plate probe which is subjected to timedependent heat flux at one end, while the other end is kept insulated. The direct solution, which is concerned with determination of the temperature distribution in the probe, is developed using an approach based on the method of variation of parameters. The direct solution is used ...
متن کاملVariation of Latent Heat Flux and Canopy Temperature over Potato Crop Governed by Soil Moisture
The microclimate of plant communities varied with energy balance, turbulent exchange and thermal status of the soil surface. Available net radiation is the balance between incoming and outgoing radiation which is the main source of energy in the earth system. The balance of energy at the earth’s surface is closely associated with the overlying atmospheric boundary layer (Roxy et al., 2014). The...
متن کاملSpatial Disaggregation of Latent Heat Flux Using Contextual Models over India
Estimation of latent heat flux at the agricultural field scale is required for proper water management. The current generation thermal sensors except Landsat-8 provide data on the order of 1000 m. The aim of this study is to test three approaches based on contextual models using only remote sensing datasets for the disaggregation of latent heat flux over India. The first two approaches are, res...
متن کاملBayesian multimodel estimation of global terrestrial latent heat flux from eddy covariance, meteorological, and satellite observations
Accurate estimation of the satellite-based global terrestrial latent heat flux (LE) at high spatial and temporal scales remains a major challenge. In this study, we introduce a Bayesian model averaging (BMA) method to improve satellite-based global terrestrial LE estimation by merging five process-based algorithms. These are the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) LE product a...
